In a desperate attempt to boost traffic to my idiosyncratic forum, I have registered the dormant domain name nationwiderx.us for $7.35 with the registrar Cloudflare. This domain name is linked to on The Million Dollar Homepage (2005), by Alex Kew.

Our real estate is the 40x10 black background with the word ‘DRUGS’ in yellow text, which sits 590 pixels below the top of the image (about 60% of the way down), on the right side.

I think this was a wonderful deal – each pixel on the site sold for $1.00, so our 40x10 rectangle originally rang up at $400.00 (and that is excluding the previous domain owner’s own registration costs). I only had to wait twenty years to get a 98.1625% discount!

I have set the domain up to link to this rigby post. I would encourage any travellers to this site from the million dollar homepage to create an account, and leave a comment on this post. If you might, you could leave any or all of the following: your name, location, the reason you went to the million dollar homepage, and the reason you clicked on ‘DRUGS.’ I am very curious!

The veteran rigby user might think this desperate attempt at boosting traffic is folly. After all, there are a million pixels on the million dollar homepage, and we only own 40 of them. We are competing with 999,960 other pixels … However, I remain hopeful: firstly, we are a relatively large rectangle. The majority are only 10x10, so we are four times bigger. Secondly, our rectangle has a very attractive proposition. Who wouldn’t want ‘DRUGS?’

Also, when you hover over our rectangle with a mouse, it says ‘Valium, Xanax, Ambien, Phentermine and much more.’ So not only is this a great value proposition, which will incentivize people to click, but the last few words ensure that we are not actually clickbaiting. Rigby really is SO MUCH MORE!

By the way if anyone wants to copy me the red on white ‘JESUS’ in the top-right corner looks like a steal.
