Hello everyone… I must apologize. I forgot my password to this website again but thankfully rigby user ~Matthias has a nice snippet I used to get a new hash. Anyways when I tried logging into the postgresql database (which by the way is new, I converted to Postgres when I switched rigby back to the old, better site styling and lack of js). This didn’t work! I knew what the db user and pass is, it’s stored in the rigby config file, but for some reason psql kept not telling me enter. I did a bit of googling and it turns out that I had to change something in the config file at /etc/postgresql/${VERSION}/main/pg_hba.conf
. I could’ve sworn I was able to log into it before, I’m not sure what changed. Anyways once I fixed it I wanted to make sure that I didn’t mess anything up with Rigby’s db access so I GASP restarted the systemd service. It worked fine, but in the meantime the server went down for a few hundred milliseconds. Here at rigby we take uptime very seriously and our previous process was running perfectly for several months without any downtime. I can assure you I don’t do these things lightly! I’m sorry to everyone who noticed.
